Each week, Justin Barnes, aka the @HITAdvisor, hosts his 30-minute informative radio program, This Just In, during which Justin and his guests shed light on the latest trends, strategy and innovations impacting healthcare, technology and even entrepreneurialism in America. Whether it’s healthcare, health IT, strategy, or the “next big thing”, if a topic is trending, Justin is sure to be talking about it with his broad circle of peers.  As has become his custom, at the end of his interviews Justin asks his guests where their favorite place is to get or be inspired.  Below are a few guest responses.

Mariann Yeager, Justin’s good friend and CEO of The Sequoia Project (@sequoiaproject), finds different groups of people to be inspiring so wherever she goes she is inspired.  For example, Mariann says the prospect of being able to help veterans, who often receive complex care, benefit from longitudinal records which could transcend all the places they have received care motivates her.  In the area of mental and behavioral health Mariann sees an inextricable link between mental and physical health and believes that link could be aided tremendously by coordinated care.  Finally, she says, kids inspire her.  She feels we owe it to them to have a connected and coordinated system of care.  Mariann’s place of inspiration is therefore all around her.

Justin met Ivo Nelson, famed entrepreneur and founder of Next Wave Connect (@Nextwaveconnect), at a dinner one night while attending HIMSS 15.  Nelson, a self proclaimed good old Texas boy, says like many other people he knows his mind never stops.  Anyplace where he can be meditative and quiet is a place where he can find inspiration.  Nelson even practices yoga up to three times a week to achieve his peace of mind.
