Wellness Wednesday – Summer Exercises with Nurse Lauren
Hi there, Nurse Lauren here with your Wellness Wednesday tips! Have you been relaxing on the beach or poolside (with sunscreen of course!) for the past month? Let’s remember that while taking a break and enjoying ourselves is very important – so is keeping active and incorporating exercise into our daily routine. You don’t need fancy gym equipment to make sure you are getting your heart rate going everyday. With only a few weeks left of summer make sure you are utilizing these tips on any last minute vacations you are taking!
AT THE BEACH:
For the more adventurous: canoeing, kayaking or standup paddle boarding
For the whole group: volleyball or frisbee
For the individual who just needs motivation to put down that steamy beach-read: a walk!
AT THE POOL:
In the water: Swim laps, planks with a pool noodle, tread water or water aerobics
On the deck: Squats, shoulder and arm raises, or take a walk (no running!) around the perimeter of the pool.
This is Nurse Lauren, contributor of NursesNOW, signing off with your Wellness Wednesday Tips. Remember to try these fun exercises next time you are catching some rays. Keep yourself healthy and active while enjoying this summer season.
