Wellness Wednesday – Nurse Self Care with Nurse Lauren
Hi there, Nurse Lauren here with your Wellness Wednesday tips! It’s National Nurses Week, so remember to celebrate the nurses in your life. Wait, you are the nurse in your life? Well this post is for you!
Today let’s chat about what it means to TAKE CARE OF YOU! Yes – YOU! Not a patient, not a family member, not a friend who calls you up for validity with their own self diagnosis. YOU!
- Healthy Eating
- Drink Lots of Water
- Get a Good Night’s Sleep
- Exercise
- Enjoy Non-Work Related Activities
Does this seem like a lot of “practice what you preach?” It is! Taking care of yourself is no different than taking care of your patients. Any advice you would give, you should also take.
The American Nurses Association has declared 2020 as The Year of The Nurse. In honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, the goal is to encourage inclusivity and participation of all nurses, including nurse midwives, in this landmark year of activities. Thank you to all my fellow nurses who are currently on the frontline everyday fighting COVID-19.
