The Hospital’s Jetsons Era
By 2035, healthcare will be hyper-personalized, digitized, and AI-enabled with healthcare solutions seamlessly integrated into daily life. Health systems are inching closer to make this a reality by attempting to meet consumer expectations while operating with older technology, disconnected health models, and frayed infrastructure. Let’s imagine for a second what a hospital of the future would look like. One that has a forward-thinking design, takes into account patient needs, and improves the digital experience with a more customer-facing platform. Health leaders will look into their crystal balls as they paint a picture for a digital future that can redefine the way we deliver care within the four walls.

The Partnerships We Need for VA’s Goal to Reach All Veterans
In order to reach all Veterans in need of care, it will take the broader American healthcare system and health tech community coming together to improve accessibility and implement emerging tech. From their Interoperability Pledge involving 13 health systems willing to connect directly from open API’s to a novel policy created to cover care for all Veterans at risk for suicide to the creation of an AI Tech Sprint bringing in early stage developers to audition their products, the VA is casting a wide partnership net to ensure no Veteran is left behind. Further, they are leading the way in speeding up the government contracting process and utilizing internal resources to focus on delivering direct services over administrative tasks. And not to mention their novel work in clinical trials for psychedelic therapies! We have a lot to cover, so join Under Secretary Elnahal to get the latest on their impactful agenda.

Mastering Data Like It’s Your Most Valuable Asset
Location: LACC, Show Floor, Venice Beach Stage
Garbage In, Garbage Out
It’s estimated that the average hospital produces at least 50 petabytes of data each year with roughly 80% of it being unstructured and unusable without being standardized in some way to be machine-readable. That is a whole lot of data garbage! How do we unlock previously “trashed” data? AI has certainly stepped in to be the health data sanitation department’s employee of the year. AI models are masterful at automating processes, ensuring data quality, and bolstering security measures, ultimately aiding healthcare organizations in compliance with regulations and safeguarding patient privacy. Additionally, AI-driven predictive analytics and automated compliance monitoring help identify and address potential risks associated with health data governance proactively. Someone’s trash is certainly someone else’s treasure!
