The Friday Five – PPE Update
If we were to make a list of terms that remind us of the year 2020, PPE would be somewhere on the top of the list. PPE or personal protective equipment, are the critical items doctors, nurses, and health care providers rely on to assist in stopping the spread of COVID-19. According to True PPE, a company formed to fill a need in the United States with the shortage of medically certified PPE, PPE includes face masks and respirators, protective gowns, isolation gowns, aprons and bouffant caps Many times this year the term PPE has been discussed in terms of shortages. Unfortunately, lack of adequate PPE for hospitals and medical professionals, puts health care workers at risk and in turn the public as well. This week’s Friday Five examines the latest news about personal protective equipment.
