National Health Center Week is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers (@NACHC), health centers serve 30 million patients, a number that continues to grow along with the demand for affordable primary care. Community Health Centers are vital to every community offering strength, expertise, and care during the most painful and trying times. This year National Health Center Week is August 6 – 12 2023 with the theme of “The Roadmap For A Stronger America” This week’s Friday Five highlights NHCW23 and focuses on what health centers have to offer.
Conversations on Healthcare

Each week, hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter interview a thought leader from the realm of health policy, health innovation, health technology and global health. FactCheck.org’s Managing Editor Lori Robertson exposes false claims about health policy in the public domain and we end with a Bright Idea that’s improving health and well being in every day lives.

The NACHC Community Health Institute (CHI) and EXPO is the largest annual gathering of health center clinicians, executives, consumer board members, along with State/Regional Primary Care Associations and Health Center Controlled Networks. The conference is happening at a time when health centers are charting a new course in a rapidly changing health environment and being called upon to assume a larger role in the nation’s health care system.

The NACHC is the leading advocacy organization in support of Community Health Centers and the expansion of health care access for the uninsured and medically underserved. This week they debuted a new website designed to make it easier for users to locate resources.
