National Health Center Week is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers (@NACHC), health centers serve 29 million patients, a number that continues to grow along with the demand for affordable primary care. Community Health Centers are vital to every community offering strength, expertise, and care during the most painful and trying times. This year National Health Center Week is August 7 – 13, 2021 with the theme of “The Chemistry For Strong Communities.” This week’s Friday Five highlights NHCW22 and focuses on what health centers have to offer.
Conversations on Healthcare
Hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter are marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of Community Health Center, Inc., by turning the tables. Join former CBS and ABC News anchor Thalia Assuras as she asks Mark and Margaret to share their memories on this special occasion. You’ll learn about the early challenges of starting CHC, the patients it’s helped and how it fits into the larger effort to improve U.S. health care.
