The Friday Five – Five Things to Know About Pop-Up Studios
Our HealthcareNow Radio team has been busy getting ready for our week at HIMSS20. During the conference we will be hosting a series of Pop-Up Studios around the conference and in various exhibitor booths.
This week’s Friday Five lists 5 things to know about Pop-Up events and our Pop-Up Studios.
HIMSS20 will be in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center
March 9-13
See you in Orlando!
Number 1: First, what is a Pop-Up Event?
Pop-up events are temporary, unexpected events in unique spaces. They pop up and, after a brief time, they pop down. By definition, events are temporary. It is the element of surprise in unexpected locations that distinguish pop-up events.
Number 2: How did Pop-Ups get started?
According to Wikipedia, the pop-up trend started at the Ritual Expo in 1997 in Los Angeles. Branded as a one-day, hipster mall, the event caught the attention of larger brands looking to create a pop-up shopping experience. Pop-up Retail began extending into other genres around 2009 and today you’ll find pop-ups for restaurants, art shows, fashion shows and more.
Number 3: What will be happening at your Pop-Up Studio at HIMSS?
At our Pop-Up Studios in Orlando at the HIMSS conference, we will be conducting on-camera interviews with thought leaders to get their insights and take on some of the most pressing and challenging issues facing healthcare today. Be sure to check out our Pop-Ups Studio schedule to find out when and where they will be.
Number 4: How will conference attendees know where you’ll be hosting Pop-Up Studios at HIMSS?
We’ll let people know where our Pop-Ups are happening through a series of upcoming articles and through social media channels. And just before we start a Pop-Up and during the Pop-Up, we tweet our presence, and stream snippets of the Pop-Up interviews over Twitter.
Follow our Pop-Up hashtag: #HCNRPopUp
Number 5: What happens after the Pop-Up Studios are over?
We take the video footage from the interviews at the Pop-Up and edit them, adding graphics, music, and branding. Videos are published on several video channels. We also convert the videos to podcasts to include on our HealthcareNOW Radio podcast channel.
