Our Story – Recapping Men’s Health Month
National Men’s Health Month (MHM) is an observance led by the Men’s Health Network (@MensHlthNetwork). The goal is to raise awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. In addition to MHM, Men’s Health Week is also celebrated each year the week leading up to and including Father’s Day. This year MHW will be celebrated from June 13th – 19th. During the month of June a variety of health education and outreach activities such as screenings, health fairs, and media appearances take place to encourage men and boys to put their health first. As Congressman Bill Richardson once said, “Recognizing and preventing men’s health problems is not just a man’s issue. Because of its impact on wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters, men’s health is truly a family issue.”
We followed events, news, and tweets throughout June and created a collection of Men’s Health Month 2016 highlights. Check it out below.
