ASHRM Celebrates National Patient Safety Awareness Week
The American Society for Health Care Risk Management (@ASHRMAHA) recognizes National Patient Safety Awareness Week and the role in which patient safety professionals contribute to ASHRM’s mission of advancing patient safety, reducing uncertainty and maximizing value. Description: This year’s special program in celebration of Patient Safety Awareness Week will feature Amelia Brooks, MSc, a global leader in patient safety, high reliability, and quality improvement, who will provide strategies that healthcare organizations can implement immediately to improve the safety culture in their organizations. Ms. Brooks will share how to focus on safety within the context of global health and staffing crises, helping healthcare organizations determine how to reduce burdens on front-line providers, have the courage to eliminate tasks that do not add value, and implement practical strategies to support their staff. Leaders set the tone for the culture of an organization, but everyone on the healthcare team has personal accountability and the power to effect change. There will also be a virtual exhibit hall at the end of the session.
