The American Nursing Association (@ANANursingWorld) announces that nurses from across the nation have launched Nursing Now USA, the United States part of the global campaign Nursing Now. This campaign strives to to improve health and health care by highlighting the impact of nurses on patients, families and communities. For the full press release click here.
Call for Collaborative Action
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (@AACNursing) have endorsed a position statement calling for collaborative action to raise the education level of the nursing workforce. Asking for more engagement between educators, employers and other stakeholders, this mission emphasizes the fact that in order to serve the health needs of our country, nurses need to further their educational development. Nursing Scholarships Awarded
The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (@ForeverNursing) awarded 85 scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year. Scholars and sponsors were recognized during the National Student Nurses’ Association 67th Annual Convention, April 3 – 7, 2019, in Salt Lake City, UT. An additional 50 Promise of Nursing (PON) scholarships were also awarded. To read more click here.
Policy Brief on Pregnant and Parenting Women with a Substance Use Disorder
The American Academy of Nursing (@AAN_Nursing) released its policy brief calling for an end to criminal prosecution and punitive civil actions against pregnant and parenting women based solely on their substance use in favor of a public health response. For the full press release click here.
