NLN Foundation Joins the Global Giving Tuesday Movement
Pledges to Raise $25,000 to Support the Next Generation of Nursing Educators
NLN Foundation for Nursing Education (@NLNursing) has again joined the Giving Tuesday movement, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November, 28, Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Through #NLNGivingTuesday, the NLN Foundation is raising awareness and funds engaging with individuals and organization through social media. Participants may donate; take action on the NLN Advocacy Action Center, post an #UnSelfie, call, text, or email friends and colleagues with NLN ready-to-send messages about the importance of providing financial support for the future of nursing education. The goal of the NLN Foundation is to raise $25,000 from #NLNGivingTuesday efforts. All funds will support the NLN Foundation’s nurse educator scholarships and other important programs that promote excellence in nursing education. Collectively, these programs advance the health of our nation and the global community.
“Giving Tuesday is an important call to action from the NLN Foundation to all nursing educators. Your gift shows your commitment to investing in our industry’s future – a future of leaders in nursing education. Investing in the next generation of nursing educators is paramount to the continuation of my passion, our passion of addressing nursing faculty shortage”, says NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN. Chief Nursing Officer, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and NLN Foundation for Nursing Education Board of Trustees chair, Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN, remarks, “Making a donation to the NLN Foundation on Giving Tuesday not only shows your support for the NLN Foundation, but also for the academic success of students pursuing advance degrees as full-time nurse educators.”
