Monday Motivation – Healthy Game Day Snacks with Nurse Lauren
Hi there, Nurse Lauren here with your Monday Motivation! Are you feeling guilty after all the not-so-healthy snacks you binged on while watching football all day yesterday? It is possible to enjoy one of your favorite fall activities while still sticking to a healthy diet.
Check out my past Wellness Wednesday post for ideas on healthier Football Snacks you can prepare and bring to any game day gathering.
Also check out Cooking Light’s (@CookingLight) Healthy and Delicious Super Bowl Recipes including Shredded Chicken Mole Nachos, Jalapeño Popper Bean Dip and White Bean, Pork, and Green Chile Chili. Don’t want to drink your calories with beer? There’s also a few cocktail recipes, too!
If you are planning on watching back-to-back games, try to make a plan on how you may get a little exercise in at some point, too. Challenge everyone to walk around the room during the commercials. Check your fitbits and make it a competition. If the weather is nice – play some flag football at halftime or when a game is over.
This is Nurse Lauren, contributor of NursesNOW, signing off with your Monday Motivation! Remember, healthy eating, in addition to exercise, are the keys to living a healthy lifestyle. Football season is a fun time, (especially in my hometown of Philadelphia – GO EAGLES!) but you don’t have to stray from your healthy eating and exercise plans.
