Join us this Thursday for ABCs of the QPP on 2019 Final Rule
Last Thursday CMS released the 2019 Final Rule for the Quality Payment Program.
The rule shepherds in some significant changes to MIPS, including overhauling the Promoting Interoperability performance category (formerly Advancing Care Information and before that Meaningful Use under the EHR Incentive Program). The change here is meant to support greater EHR interoperability and patient access to health information. It also creates an alignment with the new Promoting Interoperability Program for hospitals. One item of note – CMS will require MIPS-eligible clinicians to use 2015 Edition certified EHR technology, starting with the 2019 MIPS performance period.
CMS also included in the Final Rule an opt-in policy to participate in MIPS for some clinicians who see a low volume of Medicare patients.
There is a LOT to digest here and once again, we will be hosting with the experts from SA Ignite a webinar to look at the details and the impact on MIPS performance.
Please join us next Thursday for this important event.
