International Health & Wellness Week Begins May 2
The first annual International Health & Wellness Week (IHAWW) is right around the corner, May 2 – 8. IHAWW was founded by Steve Guttman, owner of Mind Body Dynamics in Parsippany, NJ. Steve believes that staying healthy is achieved through a combination of three things: eating right, being physically active, and being in the right place mentally. He is emphatic that together the wellness, fitness and medical communities can show people how easy it can be to incorporate healthier living into their daily routines.
About IHAWW
Back in 2005, Steve Guttman organized a town-wide wellness week with local gyms, martial arts studios, and fitness centers. While all were hoping to increase membership, they also had a common goal of exposing families to the value of living healthier lives. Years later, Guttman wanted to expand the program, so he trademarked International Health and Wellness Week. This is the first year launching the global initiative, in which any gym, trainer, nutritionist, wellness provider, etc. is welcome to participate.
Goals of IHAWW
The purpose of IHAWW is to make a positive impact on health and wellness overall, as well as to unite people through the common goal of preventing obesity and disease, to promote a better quality of life, and to celebrate life together. The goals of IHAWW are:
- To educate and inspire people of all ages about the options and benefits of all forms of health, wellness and fitness to improve their lives.
- To make a positive impact on the health, wellness and nutrition of society as a whole.
- To help unite people of the world through the common goal of preventing disease and improving health overall.
- To proactively open a dialog on ways to improve the quality of living healthier.
- To celebrate life.
Health and Wellness Providers Needed
International Health & Wellness Week was established to expose people to all the options available to them to improve their lives physically, mentally and spiritually. For health and wellness providers IHAWW is an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and to promote living healthier and living longer. During IHAWW participating providers will open their doors to the public with classes, seminars, demonstrations, promotions and materials to exhibit their services. All types of health and wellness providers are encouraged to sign up to participate.
“International Health and Wellness Week is a concerted effort across the health and wellness community to have a positive impact on people’s lives everywhere,” states Steve Guttman, “By promoting available options, it makes it easy for people to make positive changes in their lives.”
