According to Michael Gaspar, manager, Enterprise Content Marketing, HIMSS, “the HIMSS Social Media Ambassadors are a community of health innovators who embrace social media as a driver of change in the health IT industry.” HIMSS Social Media Ambassadors share their experiences and thoughts before, during and after the HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition “in carefully coordinated social media campaigns and thoughtful blog posts with a common, singular purpose – to inform and inspire change with great content and savvy social media.” This year at HIMSS19, HealthcareNow Radio boasts four of our radio hosts moonlighting as HIMSS Social Media Ambassadors. Design Thinking:
Design thinking: don’t make #patient accept multi page documents on kiosk. Comment on whether want anyone to read. Sarcastic response: how many people read consents/click agreements in any circumstance? #HiMSS19 #Engage4Health pic.twitter.com/Lf1ODj8Akl

Evolution from Social Media Ambassador to Digital Influencer
The HIMSS Social Media Ambassadors Program has seen so much success and comradery that HIMSS is looking to expand and build on the program. While social media will still be a pivotal channel for the incoming class of digital influencers, the core difference in the program’s evolution is to build this mission beyond the platform of social media alone. Stay tuned for more information about the program and if you or someone you know is interested in joining the new class of digital influencers, applications will open the Spring 2019.
