The Health App from Apple
Apple’s Health App (@AppleSupport) provides a central location that will house all of your health related data and information. While it does require some effort on the user’s part to get it up and running, once it is connected to compatible apps and filled with your personal health information Health makes itself quite useful. Run, don’t walk (your steps will be counted), to download it now.
Grow · Pick · Distribute
Fallen Fruit (@Falling_Fruit) is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide a database and interactive map to connect “the natural organisms growing in our neighborhoods” with the contemporary forager. In addition, one of the tools Fallen Fruit provides is a worldwide searchable list of “organizations that grow food in public spaces (food forests, public orchards), pick food (urban foraging, farm gleaning), or distribute food (exchanges, donations).” National Apple Month is the perfect time to sign up with an organization near you and get out there to harvest that apple surplus for the needy.

An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Ever wonder where the saying, An apple a day keeps the doctor away, originated and if it’s even true? Well, we did a little research and came up with some possible answers to those burning questions. Gary Matrin (@aphraseaweek) launched a credible site in 1997 called The Phrase Finder which traces the saying back to Wales in 1866. If you enjoy tracing phrases you might wish to sign up for Gary’s “A Phrase a Week” service. Now the second question, is there any truth to the saying? Medical News Today (@mnt), a leading healthcare internet publishing company, reveals that according to some studies maybe the apple helps keep someone other than the doctor away.
