Finding HealthcareNOW Radio on Amazon
Like so many aspects of our daily lives, Amazon has had a big impact on how the healthcare audience engages with HealthcareNOW Radio and its live streaming station and podcast channel.
If you’re an Alexa devotee, an Audible user or an Amazon music fan then listen up! We’ve got you covered. Check out the ways you can find us below.
Amazon Music
Amazon Music doesn’t accurately describe all that can be found on this Amazon app and webpage. Like Pandora and Apple Music, Amazon Music gives you access to talk podcasts across the spectrum.
On Amazon Music, you can listen to podcasts on any device, download podcast episodes to listen offline, and follow your favorite podcast shows.
But the place to begin is on the Amazon podcast page. Here, you can search for podcasts, explore podcasts by category and check out Amazon editor’s picks.
Find episodes of both our radio shows that have gone on demand for replay as well as episodes from our syndicated podcast shows. Just type healthcarenowradio, HealthcareNOW or Healthcare NOW in the search box and scroll down to podcasts and you’ll see our familiar name and album cover. Once you click thru, you’ll see the latest episode releases and can also follow us or share the page with friends, colleagues, or anyone else you think would be interested in our content. One caveat: you will have to create a free Amazon account to listen.
And of course, once you have an Amazon account, you can also download the Amazon Music app on your smartphone.
Audible
Full transparency here – I’m an Audible fanatic. I began listening to Audible books in 2006, finding that listening to books helped pass the time away during my workouts.
Amazon acquired Audible in 2008, just after the first Kindle was released. In 2006, it began offering a subscription model for short-form podcasts; followed by making some podcasts free to listen to with an Amazon Prime Membership in 2016. Prime members have free access to Audible’s short-form audio programs, documentaries, serialized dramas, comedy shows, as well as a selection of some exclusive ad-free podcasts
If you’re already an Audible member, great!! You can get access to all podcasts, some audiobooks, and some Audible originals without using any of your membership credits.
Even if you’re not an Audible member, you can still listen for free to some podcasts, including HealthcareNOW Radio, though you will still need to create a free Amazon account first to listen. And just like Amazon Music, you can download the Audible app to your smartphone.
To find us, use the search bar, type HealthcareNOW or Healthcare NOW.
Also, under the Browse tab on the menu, you’ll see Podcasts in the dropdown. Click and you’ll be taken to all of the available podcasts on Audible.

Alexa!
When it comes to the dominant smart speaker in the marketplace, our recommendation is you start with streaming our HealthcareNOW Radio station. Smart speakers are the perfect home or office environment for streaming radio. Whether you like NPR, BBC, or want to stream a genre, you just have to ask.
To stream our station, just say “Alexa, play HealthcareNOW Radio” and our radio station will start playing, at whatever point you ask. Keep in mind that HealthcareNOW Radio is comprised of sixteen, 30-minute radio shows that make up eight hours of continuous content. What does this mean? Well, if you want to catch a full show, ask Alexa at the top and bottom of the hour. Also, because we stream 24 hours a day, we re-broadcast the full eight hours of programming 3x a day. That means you have three chances each day, Monday – Friday, to listen to your favorite HealthcareNOW Radio shows or discover new ones!
You can also play all of our episodes of these shows in their podcast form, as well as 15 podcast-only shows in our network. That said, we think smart speakers are better for streaming radio and broadcast content versus the episodic podcast format. Why? Well on Alexa or any smart speaker, the podcast show can be played but it will always play the most current episode of any podcast show. To listen to other episodes of a particular show, you’ll have to prompt Alexa to “play the previous episode”. And unlike a smartphone, there is no metadata for a podcast episode.
Still, if your jam is to listen to podcasts on Alexa then we hope you’ll listen to ours! Just ask Alexa to “play the podcast HealthcareNOW Radio” and it will pick up the latest episode we’ve published to our SoundCloud podcast channel.
