Every Kid Healthy Week April 19 – 25
Follow and join the conversation with #EveryKidHealthy
Led by the Action for Healthy Kids, Every Kid Healthy Week is April 19 – 25. This annual observance week was created in celebration of all health activities and achievements occurring in schools across the nation. This dedicated week highlights what our schools are doing to promote healthy lifestyles and improve health for kids everywhere. There is a natural link between nutrition, physical activity, and education. Kids who have healthy diets and are physically active are learning more. Celebrating Every Kid Healthy Week supports nutrition and physical education programs in all schools who are committed to promoting a healthy culture for their students. This year over 1, 380 schools are participating in Every Kid Healthy Week in various ways such as fruits and vegetable taste testing, hosting 5K fun runs, and featuring community health fairs. Every Kid Healthy Week is made possible by core supporters Kellogg’s, Walmart, CXS, Stop and Shop Family Foundation, and The Colorado Health Foundation.
About Action for Healthy Kids
Action for Healthy Kids’ mission is to make schools healthier places so in turn kids are living a healthy lifestyle. For most of their awake hours, kids are in school. Many rely on having both breakfast and lunch at school. In order to see their mission successful, Action for Healthy Kids promotes the Every Kid Healthy Equation. School Action Plans plus Programs and Practices plus School-Family Community Partnership equals Every Kid Healthy.
