eHealth Initiative Announces Innovation Challenge and Showcase
eHealth Initiative (eHI) (@eHealthDC) announces second annual Innovation Challenge. The Challenge invites entrepreneurs and startups from around the world to submit proposals that tackle major healthcare system problems, such as:
- Waste reduction,
- Virtual infrastructures, and
- Improved consumer interfaces.
Interested individuals can submit their proposals online. The applicants of the leading proposals from each category will be invited to come to Washington, DC October 4-5, 2016 to pitch their ideas in “Shark Tank” style to a panel of industry expert judges as part of eHI’s Innovation Showcase. The event features keynote speakers, breakout discussions, networking sessions, and panel discussions with industry experts on today’s most pressing healthcare problems.
The winners of the Innovation Challenge from each category will receive mentorship, industry introductions or other resources needed to make their solution market ready, such as a formal partnership from a judge’s organization; funding for the product launch; and consulting services. Jennifer Covich Bordenick, CEO of eHI, says, “The creativity and ingenuity of the individual to solve complex problems should not be underestimated. eHI believes in creating opportunities for individuals with great ideas to bring them to the marketplace. The purpose of this challenge is to connect these entrepreneurs with experts who are in a position to make them a reality.”
