Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Improves Patient Navigation With Gozio Health’s Indoor Wayfinding Platform
In its ongoing effort to deliver an exceptional patient and family experience, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is installing a new smartphone-based platform from Gozio Health that uses GPS technology to help ease the anxiety of a hospital visit by helping patients and families find their way.
We caught up with Justin Barnes at HIMSS for a comment on the news. Justin is an Advisor for Gozio Health. “I am personally excited to be a part of the Gozio Health team as they are in the market at the right time, with the right strategy and with the industry’s leading hospital wayfinding innovation. As we saw with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and other forward-thinking health systems today at the HIMSS15 Annual Conference, the leading healthcare organizations are interested and excited about creating the ultimate patient experience while increasing patient safety as well as overall satisfaction.”
“Large buildings like hospitals can be challenging to navigate, but when your child is sick or injured, you just want to get them better as fast as possible,” said Donna Hyland, President and Chief Executive Officer, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “By introducing this unique technology to our three hospitals and 25 neighborhood locations, we can help a parent quickly navigate our health care system to easily get to where their child needs to be.”
This technology will be available as an app for patients, families and visitors and provides step-by-step directions to any destination within the Children’s system. Families with a hospitalized child can use the app to locate hospital amenities such as the cafeteria, chapel, gardens and gift shop. Patients and families also benefit from access to physician office directories, wellness information, appointment notifications, driving directions based on real-time traffic and reminders of their parking location.
