In less than one week the sixth annual AARP Innovation@50+ LivePitch (@innovationat50) event will take place on Wednesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. The event is a two day pitch competition for emerging startups in the caregiving technology and financial technology sectors. LivePitch will also include keynotes, featured speakers and panels of various thought leaders from around the globe with focus on innovation for the 50+ market.
Representing 38 million members, the power of AARP takes this pitch event up a notch. Only AARP’s Innovation@50+ LivePitch creates a dual-pitch event that also provides an audience of 100+ actual intended end user consumers who listen to the pitches and share feedback in real time, providing the companies absolutely invaluable market data on the spot.
Introducing the 2017 LivePitch Finalists
Over 200 companies submitted their applications to pitch their product and technology at this year’s event. In the past AARP has chosen 10 finalists, but this year they have expanded the competition and have chosen 20 emerging startups (as well as a few alternates), 10 each from the health technology and the financial technology spaces respectively. The 10 caregiving health technology company finalists:
Aegle Palette (@AEGLEPalette), San Francisco, CA, works to prevent and revert chronic diseases by empowering patients and providers with complete nutritional and lifestyle data.
AgeWell Global (@AgeWellGlobal), London, UK, seeks to improve the psychosocial well-being and health of less able older adults through tech-enabled, peer companions who address emotional, social, and physical health through regular home visits, periodic phone calls, and algorithm-driven referrals to health care providers and links to social networks in their communities.
BrainCheck (@BrainCheck), Houston, TX, offers a rapid, mobile cognitive tracking platform for cognitive health assessments to be a routine part of life for everyone. In under 10 minutes, they assess multiple cognitive domains, and deliver results immediately, tracking changes from a person’s baseline and from the population average.
Ceresti Health (@CerestiHealth), Carlsbad, CA, empowers family caregivers to tackle chronic conditions and care challenges for loved ones living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. Their personalized digital health programs provide caregivers with education, support, care plans and coaching to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs.
GoGoGrandparent (@GoGoGrandparent), Mountain View, CA, helps older adults access and use on demand transportation and offers extra tools for caregivers.
iBeat (@ibeatwatch), San Francisco, CA, is an emergency response network making the world safer by giving people the fastest access to care in an emergency via a smartwatch that continually monitors users’ heart activity. In an emergency, iBeat will instantly alert the user, their loved ones, and 911, helping ensure immediate care and potentially saving the user’s life.

Marvee (@AskMarvee), St. Petersburg, FL, is a voice-driven, care-companion service imbued with alerts, home safety and family interaction functions, providing awareness, peace of mind and social engagement.
PillDrill (@PillDrill), Las Vegas, NV, is a smart medication tracking system that intelligently modernizes the pill taking experience. PillDrill is easy to use, adapts seamlessly to any medication routine, and works whether a person manages their own medication regimen or someone else’s.
Siren Care (@SirenCare), San Francisco, CA, is a smart sock with sensors embedded inside the fabric that tracks temperature and can find injury in real time, improving the lives of people living with diabetes.
