This year, a continuation on the overhaul of the Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program, 2021 Final Rule for the Quality Payment Program was released, and more payment models announced to advance regional value-based care in Medicare.
State HIE News and Updates
This monthly report checks in on our State Health Information Organizations. State HIEs come in all shapes and sizes but have one thing in common: To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivered in their states.
This past year, HIEs across the country stepped up to support healthcare organizations in their response to the ongoing pandemic. Going forward we expect to see this support extend to areas of vaccination administration and testing data.
HIE Rundown
This monthly report keeps an eye on the industry’s progress on health data interoperability. News from vendors and national organizations, along with suggested reading and a pick from our HealthcareNOW Radio channel podcast episodes for listening.
This year, the quest for true interoperability has continued. ONC final rule has pushed the industry that did not rise to the occasion on its own, and mandated an end to information blocking and requiring development consumer apps to access health information data.
What’s Happening at the ONC
The Office of the National Coordinator is an agency of HHS to support the adoption of health IT and the promotion of nationwide health information exchange to improve health care. This monthly report keeps you up to date on what they are up to.
The biggest news this year of course was that the Cures Act Final Rule was announced. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ONC is extending compliance dates and timeframes for Information Blocking and the ONC Health IT Certification Program.
Revenue Cycle and Payer News
This monthly report includes the latest news being reported on payers and the health insurance industry.
This past year in payer news the focus on telemedicine coverage was front and center due once again to the pandemic and then it was on to COVID-19 coverage. Next the industry awaits the Supreme Court decision regarding the ACA.
Sorting out AI, ML, DL, and NLP
